After receiving reports that 7 of its heated oscillating fans caught fire, Sears and Kmart, in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission voluntarily recalled these units, and are now offering a full refund for these defective products.

According to the information being provided with the recall, the specific defect involves broken motor mounts that can cause the units to overheat, catch fire and ignite nearby items, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers.

The CPSC's website, as is customarily the case, has a link available to report any incidents regarding the recalled product.

A picture of the subject product is below.

For additional information regarding this particular defective product recall, consumers are urged to contact either www.sears.com or www.kmart.com.
