The primary statutes, or laws, that govern construction site accidents in New York are New York Labor Law §§ 200, 240(1) and 241(6). These statutes are, generally speaking, known as construction worker safety statutes that were enacted in order to assure that construction workers are provided with all necessary and proper safety equipment to protect them against the gravity-related hazards inherent to their jobs.
