Appeals Court Upholds $1.3 Million Verdict Against Insurer That Refused to Pay Claim

Earlier today, it was reported that an appellate court in San Diego affirmed a $1.3 Million jury award against an insurance company that wrongfully refused to pay out the full value on its homeowners' policy after a fire destroyed the policyholders' house in its entirety in 2003. In finding for the couple, the jury found that the insurance company had been guilty of fraud, breach of contract and bad faith.
