Defective Products Case Against Conveyor Manufacturer Dismissed by Jury

Recently, an upstate New York jury dismissed a plaintiff's claim that the manufacturer of a conveyor system was liable in strict products liability and negligence for the serious personal injuries that he suffered when his hand was caught in the space between an offloading tray and the conveyor's belt. Apparently, the jury felt that the manufacturer should not be held responsible for the dangerous condition because it did not install or make the offloading tray.
