NY Fish Recalls Salmon Due to Listeria Hazard

After a routine FDA inspection found that its Imperial-European Style Smoked Salmon was possibly contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, which has been linked to severe and potentially fatal health hazards for those with weaker or compromised immunity, such as the elderly, small children and particularly pregnant women, NY Fish Inc. recalled this defective and potentially dangerous food product.
Although most people affected by the listeria organism may sustain short-lived symptoms including bad headaches, elevated temperature, nausea and/or diarrhea, the aforementioned categories of vulnerable people are susceptible to far more serious symptoms.
