Two Zicam Cold Remedy Products Recalled

On June 16, the maker of the Zicam brand of cold remedy products, Matrixx Initiatives, Inc. voluntarily recalled its Zicam Zicam Cold Remedy Swabs and Cold Remedy Nasal Gel in response to a warning letter that it received from the FDA. The FDA's letter was issued in response to complaints by consumers that those who used these products had sustained either diminished or a complete loss of their sense of smell, also known as anosmia.
