Jury Finds that Taco Bell Stole Chihuahua Idea; Awards Ad Creators Over $30 Million

Several years after after a jury in a commercial litigation matter credited two men with coming up with the idea behind Taco Bell's ad campaign featuring this chihuahua as its spokesmodel (as opposed to Taco Bell's claim that their outside ad agency came up with the idea), as a result of which they found that Taco Bell inappropriately stole, infringed and misappropriated the idea, an appellate court recently upheld the jury's verdict -- and awarded the small business over $42 million.
