Company Recovers $700,000 Due to its Attorneys' Negligence
After the judge in the underlying commercial litigation concluded that the defendant company had wrongfully denied the plaintiff manufacturer its share of the profits on technologies that were jointly developed, as a result of which he erroneously awarded the plaintiff a percentage of the gross, rather than net, profits, on those technologies (which was clearly contrary to the law), the defendants' lawyers negligently failed to file an appeal of the judge's order, costing the company several hundred thousand dollars.
