Yesterday, it was reported that a California jury awarded a teenage boy over $8 million, finding that the local municipality was negligent and liable for the personal injuries he sustained when a car crashed into his bicycle, causing him to lose one of his legs after multiple surgeries attempting to save his leg were unsuccessful.
