In a case brought by a plaintiff who claimed that he was injured when he tripped over construction debris that was in front of the building that was - and is - owned by our client, a small real estate developer, the case just settled for a total of $85,000. But the interesting part is this: our client isn't paying a dime of it.
Although the other parties exerted a lot of pressure fon our client to pay towards the settlement of this action, we stuck to our guns, and the entire settlement is being paid by the insurers for the building project's construction manager and one of the sub-contractors that were working on the site.
