Recently, a Brooklyn Court approved the settlement of a negligent supervision case involving a 7 year-old boy who was allowed to wander unsupervised out of his NYC classroom, down a hallway and ultimately into traffic, where he was hit by a passing car. The boy sustained a broken femur (i.e., leg) that required surgical correction, including open reduction and internal fixation. Fortunately, the young boy has made a good recovery from his personal injuries. Additional facts about how this school negligence incident occurred are discussed in "How I Helped a Child Settle His NY School Negligence Case - and Got a Hug."
