Dissatisfied with the Court's Order that granted the plaintiff venture capitalist a partial judgment against him in the amount of $500,000 in this Brooklyn commercial litigation involving allegations of fraud and wrongful and unlawful conversion of funds and assets, the defendant real estate developer retained New York small business attorney Jonathan Cooper on the eve of trial (he had been represented by different counsel beforehand).
At the final pre-trial conference, at which important motions to exclude plaintiff's evidence were submitted by the defense, Mr. Cooper successfully resolved this matter - including satisfaction of the half million dollar judgment - for $157,500, representing less than 1/3 of the previously existing judgment (let alone the additional amounts that the defendant developer could have been held liable for at trial).
