Q: Can a NY court extend the term of your non-compete agreement?
Generally speaking, no, a New York court will not extend the term of a non-compete agreement beyond that which is set forth in the underlying contract. (Naturally, this is a different question than whether a court will shrink the duration of a non-compete, which New York's courts have shown a willingness to do). There are some rare circumstances, however, where a court might consider extending the non-compete.
